How far in advance do I need to start planning my pet’s relocation?
This depends entirely on the destination. Australia and New Zealand require a rabies blood titre test at least 180 days before travel — so planning must begin at least 6 months before your move date. The UK requires 21 days after a rabies vaccine if your pet has never been vaccinated. Other countries have shorter lead times. Contact us as early as possible — the sooner we confirm your destination requirements, the more options you have.
Can you move brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds like Bulldogs and Pugs?
Yes, but this requires careful management. Many airlines have restrictions or outright bans on brachycephalic breeds due to respiratory risks during air travel. We identify compliant airlines for your route, confirm acceptance of your specific breed, and advise on any additional veterinary requirements. Some destinations may also have breed-specific restrictions independent of airline rules.
What documents does my pet need to travel from Dubai?
The core requirements for most destinations include: microchip, up-to-date vaccinations (rabies is almost always required), a UAE MOCCAE export health certificate, and an IATA-compliant travel crate. Will my pet have to go into quarantine?
Quarantine requirements vary significantly by destination. Australia and New Zealand have mandatory quarantine periods for all incoming pets. The UK does not require quarantine if documentation requirements are fully met in advance. Many EU countries and Canada do not require quarantine for dogs and cats if requirements are met. We confirm quarantine obligations for your specific destination and help you meet the conditions to avoid it where possible.
Can you move exotic animals, birds, or reptiles?
Yes. We manage the relocation of birds, reptiles, and other exotic species — including those subject to CITES regulations. CITES-listed species require export and import permits that must be obtained in advance. Can you move my pet separately from my household goods?
Yes. Pet relocation is available as a standalone service — you do not need to be moving your household with Fusion. Many clients use our pet relocation service independently when moving with another company, or when their household goods have already been shipped and they need to arrange their pet separately.
What happens if my pet’s paperwork is rejected at the destination?
This is extremely rare when the process is managed properly — which is why professional management matters. In the unlikely event of a documentation issue, our destination partner agent is on-site to manage the situation.
