Cookie policy

Last updated: 1 January 2026

The short version

Browsing this website does not set any cookies. There is no analytics, no tag manager and no advertising pixel running on these pages. Two small things are stored on your device — the choice you make on the privacy banner, and a record of how you arrived that lasts only as long as your visit. Both are described below.

We have written this page specifically rather than pointing you at a generic cookie notice, because a generic notice would describe things this site does not do.

What is actually stored

Visit attribution — session only

When you arrive, a small script records how you got here: the page you landed on, the address of the site that referred you if there was one, and any campaign parameters in the URL — the utm_ tags and advertising click identifiers that search engines and ad platforms append to a link.

That record is held in your browser’s session storage, which is not a cookie: it is never sent with a page request, it cannot be read by any other website, and your browser discards it the moment you close the tab. Its only purpose is that if you go on to send us an enquiry, we can tell which campaign or referral it came from. If you never submit a form, it is used for nothing and simply disappears.

Your privacy choice

Where you are changes the starting position. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage stays switched off until you press Accept — nothing is stored beforehand. Everywhere else, measurement runs from your first page view and pressing Reject switches it off. Either way, the banner offers the same two buttons and your choice is respected on every later visit.

When you press Accept or Reject on the banner, that answer is saved in your browser’s local storage so you are not asked again on every page. It records nothing else — no identifier, no timestamp, nothing about who you are.

Reject does something. It stops the visit record described above from being written at all, and clears it if it already exists. It is not a button that only hides the banner. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Form entries

What you type into a quote or enquiry form is held in the page while you complete it and is sent to us only when you submit. Nothing is stored on your device between visits, and an abandoned form is not transmitted anywhere.

Signing in

WordPress sets session and authentication cookies for people who log in to administer the site. These are strictly necessary for a login to work, and they are never set for ordinary visitors.

What this site does not do

  • No Google Analytics, and no other analytics product.
  • No tag manager.
  • No advertising or remarketing pixels — no Meta, no LinkedIn, no TikTok.
  • No third-party cookies of any kind.
  • No cross-site tracking, and no profiling or automated decision-making.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data with advertising networks.

The banner is therefore doing very little work today — there is no tracking to refuse. It is there because it should already be working correctly on the day anything measurable is added, rather than being retrofitted afterwards.

Third-party content

Some links take you to services we do not control — WhatsApp, our Google Business profile, and the websites of the trade associations and customs authorities we cite. Once you follow one of those links, that organisation’s own cookie and privacy practices apply, not ours. We do not embed their tracking on these pages.

Controlling storage yourself

Every current browser lets you view and clear cookies and site data, block them by site, and browse in a private window where storage is discarded on close. Clearing site data for this website removes both the visit record and your saved banner choice; the site continues to work exactly as before, and the only effect is that the banner appears again and an enquiry sent afterwards will not be attributed to the campaign that brought you in.

If this changes

We may add analytics or advertising measurement in future. If we do, this page will be updated before those tools go live, and they will be gated behind the same Accept/Reject choice rather than loading regardless of it.
