Shipping a car from Dubai to Portugal is straightforward; registering it is the expensive part — Portugal’s ISV registration tax can be substantial, though residence-transfer exemptions exist for a vehicle you’ve owned 6+ months. FAQ
Can I import my household goods duty-free?
Yes — Portugal grants duty-free import of used household goods when you transfer your normal residence from outside the EU, with the right documents (NIF, proof of 12+ months residence abroad, inventory). We prepare the application for you.
Do I need to be in Portugal when my shipment clears customs?
Not usually, but your NIF and signed paperwork must be in place. Your Fusion coordinator sequences this with you before the vessel arrives.
Is it worth shipping my car to Portugal?
Sometimes. Shipping is easy; Portuguese registration tax (ISV) is high unless you qualify for the residence-transfer exemption. We’ll give you an honest cost comparison before you decide.
Can you plan the move around my residency appointments?
Yes — we do it every week of the year. We are movers, not lawyers: your residency route is between you and your adviser, and we build the shipping schedule around the dates they give you.
